Rapid Transitions

Carried Away

Rapid Transitions

As new paths lead to new experiences and taking chances forewarn of expected risks, a new rhythm begins to emerge from what was once a lulling current. A streak of success from this new found wisdom around risk taking and the possibility for a different life strikes up a torrent of arrogance. It's easy to get carried away by this feeling of accomplishment. Though, just as a sense of comfort and normalcy washes over the senses, calm waters turn rapid forcing adaptation and driving home a humbling feeling; all the experience acquired throughout life thus far only amounts to swimming the calm waters behind a dam. Suddenly introduced to something so unfamiliar and unforgiving, flailing to stay afloat and eventually pulled under, a panic sets in. Given no will, forced into the silence and stillness of the deep. Watching water rush by, time slows and a calm sensation breathes inside awakening to a dark but analytical world. In this moment of collectedness a branch submerges beneath the surface briefly and comes into view. Almost unconsciously, arms reach out and pull with a strength foreign but welcome. Safe with a newfound sense of humbleness, the journey continues in an area unfamiliar but full of promise. Drenched and eyes wide, a deep breath gasped facing the clouds signals a new beginning with a fresh perspective and a memory embedded deep of this moment; not to be taken lightly again.
